Described in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) as a baptismal font in the style of the 15th century [ornamented with devils under a frise of arches?]. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM60001192]: "fonts baptismaux [...] calcaire [...] Eclats." Palissy [ref.: PM60003908] lists also a stone holy-water stoup of the 18th century here. The double font consists of two components that appear to have been carved out of a single stone block; the larger side is octagonal inside and out; a band around the upper basin side has round intersecting arch-heads with trefoiled intrados; the spandrels of the smaller basin contain grotesque heads and animals, or floral motifs; the larger side has protruding columns at the angles; the columns are all different and they have capitals and bases; perched on top of the capitals are a series of grotesque animal and devil-like heads; the sides of both blocks have figures or scenes on them [cf. supra]; most are defaced [literally, the faces have been hammered off] but some are still identifiable; besides those mentioned above, a mitred bishop, etc.]; the carving is very deep.
