Church Notes: one of the capitals of the transept bears the date 1354 -- listed church in Mérimée [ref.: PA00091687]: "L'église a été bâtie à l'emplacement d'une chapelle détruite au 15e siècle.
Illustrated -but not described- in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ). Listed and illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: APMH00064871] as "Fonts baptismaux" [https://www.pop.culture.gouv.fr/notice/memoire/APMH00064871] [accessed 25 June 2022]. The object is a large stoup of the type commonly found in Bretagne: octagonal basin raised on a short pedestal base; the basin sides have a large two-strand interlace motif and the upper part has a double rim. It is located in the porch made up of the west wall of the old church and the new High Gothic chapel added in the 15th century. We have no information on the baptismal font of this church; outside, in the churchyard, is a roughly cylindrical object with four prominent protrussions below the rim that may have been heads originally but are now very eroded; the object may have been a stoup or font originally [cf. ImagesArea].
