Described in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) simply as a 16th century baptismal font. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM29000612] as a baptismal font of the 15th century in this church. It is a double font, comsisting of a dodecagonal basin and an auxiliary octagonal basin, each with its own pedestal base; the main basin is moulded on the side and decorated with demi-figures, foliage and animals (lions?) on the side and underbowl; the bases correspond in shape to those of the basins; the main basin has four staples for an earlier cover in the upper rim. The font cover for the main basin is round, flat and plain; modern. The entry for Penmarch in InfoBretagne [http://infobretagne.com/penmarch.htm] [accessed 15 February 2020] notes: "Les fonts baptismaux se trouvaient autrefois auprès de ce foyer. [NB: the description of this "belle cuve baptismale" now serving as stoup matches the double font]. [cf. BSI entries for Penmarc'h Nos. 2, 3, 4, 5 for the 17th-century holy-water stoups in this church]. This same site mentions several of the holy-water stoups inside the church: "quelques bénitiers dont l'un porte comme inscription : 'Pour les Trépassés, 1614. — B. Flamanc AB.'
