Described by E. Pépin in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- : III D 69) as a baptismal font ornamented with four large human heads at the angles of the basin; the early parts of the church belong to the 11th century [NB: Pépin does not give the date of the font]. Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes d'Indre-et-Loire (2001, v. 1: 520) as a square basin mounted on a very short platform; there is a crudely carved head at each of the upper angles of the basin side. This last source suggests that this basin may have been carved from a former capital.
