Font Notes:
Described by R. Crozet in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) as a stoup carved out of a beautiful marble capital ornamented leaves of barbed acanthus of the Byzantin style; the capital itself may be from the early Romanesqure church. That stoup is illustrated in a 28 September 2015 photograph by William Ellison [https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Corme-Royal_église_Bénitier_a.JPG] [accessed 20 April 2025]. The stoup appears to be an inverted capital, re-purposed as a holy-water stoup; the original bottom part of the original capital was hollowed out and is now the top of the stoup; it has no base and rests directly on the ground, cemented to one of the pillars of the nave. Palissy [ref.: PM17001226] lists an 18th-century font for this church: "Fonts baptismaux et leur couvercle [...] 18e siècle"; this modern font is illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: OA017_20221700029].
