Font Notes:
Described in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) as a hexagonal stoup "d'un gothique fruste" and ornamented with a male and a female head. The Saint-Gregoire WEB site is more descriptive and compares it to a hollowed out hexagonal capital; the female head, "assez fine" while the male head bearded and "aux traits fortement accussés"; the source suggests that this is perhaps a repreentation of the Virgin and Christ; it also points out that despite the archaic allure of the heads, the concave ribbing of the basin denotes a Gothic work [http://www.val81.com/saintgregoire.htm]
