Chalice-shaped font; the upper sides of the basin have a broad band of low-relief ornamentation, including at least one crowned shield (identified in the source [cf. infra] as the Lusignan royal house of Cyprus) and the sword and ribbons of the Order of the Sword. The underbowl has deep concave ribbing pattern; the base is a short rounded pedestal. There is a wooden (?) low-dome cover with an orb-and-cross finial. It is, according to the same source, the work of Francesco Grazioli at the commission of queen Caterina Cornaro, when she ceded the Kingdom of Cyprus to Venice and retired to Asolo [source: C.I.
