The source [cf. supra] reports that tradition has them as originating from the chapel of the castle of the vicomtes de Fenouillet, now in ruins.

Described in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966- ) as one of three Romanesque capitals re-used in the newchurch; this one serves as base to the baptismal font. Described in Catalunya romànica (1984- ): unlike the other two capitals, this one is made of limestone and ornamented with animal heads, foliage and geometric motifs; it is now used as the base of the baptismal font in the new [1904] church of Saint-André. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM66001051] with date 11th-12thC. [cf. Index entry for Fenouillet No. 2 for the other capital which now serves as base for the holy-water stoup in this same church]
