Church Notes: The church is chiefly from the 12th century; the font might be itself form the same date, although some sources claim an earlier date -- church listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00081209]
Font Notes:
Described in the Dictionnaire des églises... (1966-) as an 11th-century baptismal font "en forme de puits". On-site notes: this plain cylindrical unmounted font looks much like a well-head and like some of the fonts found inside the old baptisteries (e.g., Fréjus, etc.); it is devoid of any ornamentation and its back has been built into the wall. There are traces of the original (?) lid hinges on the upper rim at the back. [NB: there are two local chapels nearby, Sainte-Catherine and Saint-Blaise, the later said to date from the 12th century, but we have no information on any fonts in them].
