Church Notes: "Un premier édifice religieux, l'église de Notre-Dame de la Plaine fut construit aux environs de l'an mil". The present church dates only from the mid-19th century [1869], but it was a re-building of an earlier one documented 1716 but probably 16thC; became parochial in the 18thC

Listed and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes de la Loire-Atlantique (1999) as a hemispheric stoup in a dark marble-like stone with dating of 1611 from an inscription; the same inscription refers to two persons by name, ["Georges Rolland et à Guillemette Davi sa femme"] probably the donors; there is also a graffito "semblent d'évoquer des têtes de mort" [=appearing to evoque the heads of the dead] at the rim.
