Church Notes: legend has a church here in 370 that was destroyed and re-built several times until 988; the actual parish church is first documented in 979 when it was donated to the abbey of Sainte Marie d'Arles, a donation confirmed by pope Sergius IV in 1011; church consecrated 26 November 1142 was the former church of Benedictine monastery; ; tower on the south side, between chancel and nave -- Listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA00104009]
Mentioned by Delcor (1973: 108) as a plain round Romanesque stone font. A partial view of the font is shown in a photograph in Roussillon roman (Zodiaque, 1986: pl. 95). The font, a plain monolithic round tub of almost cylindrical shape, is totally devoid of decoration of any sort; it resides in the narthex, located at the west end of the church next to the beautiful portal. No cover present.
