Church Notes: The old church of Saint-Denis by the cemetery was replaced in the 18th century by a new one in a more central location, still under the same advocation.
Listed in Le Patrimoine des communes de la Meuse (1999, v. 2, p. 686) as a 13th century baptismal font originally from the old church of St-Denis, moved in the 18th century to the church of the same name. The font has the basin with rounded sides normally found in the Mosan-type, quite similar in some respects to its near-relative, the Tournai-type, and made of the same type of black-blue limestone. There are two human heads visible at the upper corners, one badly damaged, and the basin side in between has two couchant dragons, their heads turned to each other. Thre is no mention of the base.
