Listed and illustrated in Enlart (1902, p. 784 footnote 6 and fig. 397 on p. 783) as a "bénitier de la seconde moitié du XII siècle en forme de gros chapiteau". It has a plain rectangular upper rim while the sides have large palmette motif ornamentation. The flat lower base rests on the ground and is rectangular. Also in Lasteyrie (1929), probably after Enlart; Lasteyrie wonders if some of these stoups shaped like capitals were not just made that way, especially in this particular case when the base and the basin are so well matched. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM24000081]: "Chapiteau du 12e siècle transformé en bénitier, provient du support séparant au nord les deux travées de la nef". Illustrated in [APMH00033486, AP54P00983]. A 2008 photograph of the object by Père Igor [https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fichier:Brantôme_bénitier.JPG] [accessed 16 April 2025] captioned: "Bénitier, composé d'un diptyque du XIIe siècle (à gauche le massacre des Saints Innocents, à droite leur accueil par Jésus à la porte du Paradis), Brantôme, Dordogne, France".
