Font Notes:
A font which our source (Le patrimoine des communes du Bas-Rhin, 1999, v. 2, p. 1449) adscribes it to the 12th century Romanesque, although it is hard to accept such classification for the object illustrated in their entry: a totally plain polygonal basin with well defined double rim and rounded sides of the octagon ends on a narrow stem below the underbowl. The square pedestal is also of a much later date than the one given for the font. It may be that the basin was so altered in the apparent restoration that it has hidden the characteristics of its origin.
