Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM58000567]: "bénitier [...] métal : fondu [...] sur un socle en pierre [...] inscription : Gilbert Gascoing. Date : 1531." Described and illustrated in Le patrimoine des communes de Nièvre (1999, v. 2, p. 778). On-site notes: bucket-shaped cast iron water stoup typical of Burgundy. This one has a wide upper rim, large square handles and the name of the donnor "Glber Gascoing" and the date of the donnation, "1531", in raised lettering on its sides, between three parallel mouldings. It is placed on a square pedestal. [NB: cf. Index entry for Garchizy No. 1 for an interesting 16th-century font of a type seen in Burgundy and found in this church]
