Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM58000233]: "fonts baptismaux [...] pierre [...] 16e siècle [...] Provient du château de Parzy". A 16th-century font, originally from the castle of Parzy, of a type which integrates an octagonal main body with a secundary rectangular basin on the side. Both parts are ornamented with mouldings, the main part having a large shield carved on its front, which, according to the source (Le patrimoine des communes de Nièvre, 1999), would have been charged, without a doubt, with the arms of one of the bishops of Nevers, owner of the castle at Parzy. On-site notes: both basin wells, the large round one and the smaller rectangular one, are now lined with lead; there are signs of repair on the large basin, at the top right hand corner of the now plain shield; there is evidence of anchorage points in the upper rim.
