Pedestal font dated to the 16th century. The shallow shell-like basin has large rib ornamentation on the outside. The cylindrical stem of the base has fluting pattern; the lower base resembles a column base, with a top round volume and a lower square one, with floral (?) motif at the angles. The source [cf. infra] reports that the inside of the basin well is divided into two compartments. (Le Patrimoine des communes de Nièvre, 1999, v. 1, p. 187). Font listed in Palissy [ref.: IM58000992]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] Calcaire [...] 16e siècle [...] H = 86 ; la = 67 ; pr = 45 [...] Pied : colonne cannelée, base moulurée et ornée de griffes ; cuve en forme de coquille à deux compartiments".
