Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM58000315]: "Bénitier en forme de mortier [...] inscription (illisible) [...] métal : fondu [...] 16e siècle". Noted and illustrated in Le Patrimoine des communes de Nièvre (1999). A typical example of Burgundian 16th century metal holy-water stoups, some more decorated than others. This one has a wide rim under which are several ornamental motifs, human heads, an inscription (illegible) and two protruding ring handles. At the bottom of the basin, several human heads. The source claims that it was originally mounted on a pedestal; it is now secured to the wall via a metal ring.
