Described in Patrimoine…Alpes-Maritimes (2000- ) as being a composite of two pieces: the pedestal base, whis dated to the early 16th century, is round with a square foot ornamented with four corner balls [heads?], while the upper part has a figure and a head on it; the basin, which appears hemispheric and with ribbed pattern on the underbowl is dated in the source to the 18th century. The tourist site of the Côte d'Azur [www.cote.azur.fr/tourisme-eglise-saint-pierre-villeneuve-d-entraunes-432_lang_de.htm] [accessed 31 March 2017] notes: "église Saint-Pierre [...] possède un bénitier de l’époque des Templier [...] un très beau bénitier en pierre sculptée". [NB: we have no information on the font of the 14th-century church here].
