Cloquet (1890) mentions this font as having been listed in Corblet (?). Noted and illustrated in KIK-IRPA http://balat.kikirpa.be]. Baptismal font consisting of an octagonal basin with tall tapering sides; on four alternate sides are human heads [is one an animal head?] arranged at 90-degree angles around the upper sides; one of the other sides has a hole probably connected to the old cover locking mechanism; raised on a short cylindrical stump of a base that is probably of later date. The brass cover is octagonal pyramidal, with an orb-and-cross finial; modern; it has a tiny inscription on the lower side; it may contain the date. [NB: an entry in the Dutch Wikipedia [https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Doopvont] [accessed 20 September 2020] shows an image of this font with the caption: "Laat-romaans Maaslands doopvont (ca. 1250) in de Sint-Stephanuskerk te Hoeselt]]
