Corblet informs that Saint-Venance († 540 A.D.) filled the baptistery of St. Julian through the mouth of a bronze deer "alimentatit son baptistère de Saint-Julien par la bouche d'un cerf d'airain". (Corblet, 1881-1882, v. 2, p. 75)
