According to Corblet the waters of the river Seine fed the basin of the baptistery of Saint-Germain-le-Rond, which was "le baptistère de la banlieu de Paris". Later, it became the parish church of St-Germain-l'Auxerrois. (Corblet, 1881-1882, v. 2, p. 70)
