Church Notes: The church of St-Pierre de Montmartre is probably one of the oldest churches in Paris; it goes back to the Benedictine abbey founded there in the 12th century, but some of its materials may have come from a 7th century church and even earlier from a Roman temple; during the Revolution it became the "Temple de la raison". It has been rebuilt or remodeled several times.
