Corblet describes it as an octagonal building on the east side of the Cathédral de St-Étienne, with one single window to let light in, its dome supported on eight granite columns with white marble capitals and half-buried bases. He gives the text of an inscription no longer visible [cf. Inscriptions] (Corblet, 1881-1882, v. 2, p. 62-63). Therion (1980, p. 158) gives the size of the rotunda as "7m 70" {diameter?], the smallest of the southeastern baptisteries of France. Delcor (1973) suggests a 6th or 8th century dating.
