Described by Corbet as a limestone font, "taillé en marteau", qui paraît être une cuve du VIIIe siècle, destinée au baptême vertical des enfants"[=hammer carved, looks like a 8th century basin for the vertyical baptism of infants]; may be the original one from the ancient baptistery [cf. record for Engins No. 1] which Corblet reports as having been demolished in the 11th century.
