St. Gregory of Tours mentions his namesake, Gregory, bishop of Langres, who, during a long stay in Dijon, lived in a house near the baptistery; at night, without anyone noticing, he would get up, access the baptistery through a door that opened by itself, and spend there several hours singing the Lord's praises. (Corblet, 1881-1882, v. 2, p. 61)
