Corblet informs that in the 3rd century the saint bishop Lin built a baptistery in a house given to him by the military tribune Onnasius. This building, enlarged by the bishop St-Maximien, became later, under the advocation of St. John the Baptist, the first parish church in town. (Corblet, 1881-1882, v. 2, p. 60)
