Church Notes: listed in Mérimée [ref.: IA00023930, PA00084850]: "Vocable Saint-Pierre Saint-Paul ; vestiges sculptés de la 1ère église romane du 11e ou 12e siècle remployés dans l'enclos ; remplacée au 15e siècle par une église gothique dont la nef est construite en 1447 ; et le choeur en 1465 (pierre de fondation) ; vitraux du choeur de la fin du 15e siècle par l'atelier de Peter Hemmel d'Andlau, partiellement conservés ; clocheton de croisée en 1570 ; l'édifice est agrandi et transformé au 17e siècle par Christophe Wamser et Georg Spranger et nouvellement consacré en 1617 ; extensions entre 1679 et 1681 ; en 1714 stalles du choeur et jubé ; démolie en 1867, porte remployée au château de la Leonardsau, divers éléments du mobilier conservés dans les collections de l'ancien musée d'Obernai ; nouvelle église projetée des 1843 ; projet par Antoine Ringeisen en 1844, entre 1864 et 1867, différents projets par Eugène Petiti, qui réalise l'édifice actuel de 1867 à 1869, inauguré en 1872 ; mobilier néo-gothique, peintures murales du choeur par Martin Feverstein, en 1897 ; dans l'enclos, monts des Oliviers datant de 1517 ; incorporé dans une chapelle (dédiée à la Vierge) construite en 1696 ; et chapelle funéraire construite en 1810."
Listed in Corblet (1881-1882) simply as a 15th-century font [NB: we have not been able to locate a 15th-century font in this church; the present font appears neo-Gothic]. There is also a late [19th-century?] stone holy-water stoup in this church.
