Listed in Corblet (1881-1882) simply as a Renaissance font. On-site notes: large cauldron-type baptismal font of beige marble; the plain protruding upper rim is followed down by a deep scotia; the basin sides are covered in broad deeply-carved ribs; the space between the ribs is adorned with incised foliage motifs, very stylised. One of the sides of the upper rim shows evidence of damage and a later repair. [NB: we have no information on the font of the 11th-century church here] -- [NB: the church in the nearby hamlet of Les Valayans, Eglise des Valayans, aka Eglise paroissiale Notre-Dame-de-l'Immaculée-Conception de Pernes-les-Fontaines, is listed in listed in Mérimée [ref.: PA84000069] as late-19th century].
