Described in Corblet (1881-1882) as a Romanesque font "qui paraît être une oeuvre des Goths". On-site notes: a large cauldron-type granite baptismal font devoid of any ornamentation but having still on its basin side the lock of the original (?) cover; the drain hole, like many found in the fonts of this area is quite large (18 cm in diameter). There is also a pedestal stoup of mixed parentage and unknown date [cf. Images]. In his Notes sur l'art réligieux du Roussillon 2e partie: l'ornementation (Bulletin archéologique du Comité des travaux historiques et scientifiques, vol. 11, 1893: 361-362), Brutails mentions a number of ancient fonts and holy-water stoups, among which he notes the stoup at Hix: "Le bénitier d'Hix me parait être contemporain de l'église et remonter au XIIe siècle: le socle est cubique et, sur une de ses faces, présente une croix; le fût comprend une pyramide tronquée à quatre pans, dont le sommet s'enfonce dans un large bourrelet, et un cylindre qui émerge du même bourrelet et porte la cuve." Brutails does not mention the font itself.
