Corblet (1881-1882) describes this font as being of the Romanesque tradition but executed in the Gothic style, and adds that it appears to belong in the time of Philippe de Valois [i.e., 1328+ ], but "semblent en effet avoir étés copiés sur un modèle du siècle précédent." An illustration of this font appeared in Le Magasin Pittoresque (1869: 340). Catalogued and illustrated in the database Palissy [ref.: PM70001356] [http://www.culture.gouv.fr/public/mistral/palissy_fr] [accessed 6 April 2025]. Octagonal tub basin raised on a base of four lions facing the four cardinal points, and raised on a plain octagonal plinth; the sides of the basin are deeply carved with some scenes of the life of Christ inside an arcade of round arches, as well as some figures of the Apostles; two of these scenes are the Crucifixion, the Stabat Mater and the Baptism of Christ; one other shows Christ in Majesty; next is Peter with the keys, then Paul with the sword, Andrew with his cross and James the Greater in pilgrim garb; below is a band that has cherubs on the sides; the basin is raised on the backs of four lions, and on a lower base that appears octagonal and plain. The font cover is round, flat and plain, hinged in the middle. Palissy has a date in the 16th century for this font. Noted in La Haute Saône [https://www.la-haute-saone.com/index.php?
