Corblet (1881-1882) mentions an old marble sarcophagus ornamented with fluting pattern and the monogram of Christ in this church [listed in the Patrimoine de France with ref. : PM33000635]. An unconfirmed source [?] reported this object having been used as a baptismal font at some point; local information describes it as Merovingian, of the 5th-6th century. The church, which dates back to the 11th century, has no medieval font in it any longer. On-site visit: two objects were located here, besides the ancient sarcophagus: a modern font with a quadrangular basin and made of white stone between the 17th and the 19th centuries is located in the nave; a large round modern dark-marble stoup by the entranceway. The sarcophagus shows no indication of ever having been used as a baptismal font. [NB: we have no information on the disappeared medieval font].
