Corblet (1881-1882, v. 2, p. 123) lists the font in this church simply as 10th-century font, without further details. The entry for this church in Patrimoine d'Ardèche [https://www.patrimoine-ardeche.com/visites/payzac.htm] [accessed 6 November 2023] mentions no font in it, nor does the Mérimée [ref.: PA00116740] listing for this church. A photograph of the font in its context inside the church appears in a digital photograph in Wikimedia [https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/a/ac/Eglise_Saint_Pierre_de_Payzac.pdf] [accessed 6 November 2023]. [NB: the present font is made up of two medieval basins; the top one is decorated with a single moulding and a band of saw-tooth all around; the one at the bottom, inverted and serving as base looks eroded and damaged; it is decorated with wide-spread ribs or piping on the underbowl -- it is not clear whether or not Corblet saw this font as it is now; if he did, which of the two basin did he date?]. No cover present.
