Malézieux (1873), in an article about the fonts at Berthenicourt and Saint-Germain (nr. Guise) in Aisne, includes a number of fonts of similar date and design at "Vermand, La-Neuvelle-la-Corbie, Vendeuil, Saint-Simon, Marle, Montdidier, Ver", and fragments in the churches of "Etreillers, Ribemont, Fonsomme, Gauchy, Marteville". Listed in Corblet (1881-1882) with the "fonts antiques" but without any annotation. The web site of this town [www.ville-marle.com] [accessed 3 January 2014] informs that the origianl old font here was moved to the parish church at nearby Montigby-sous-Marle; in its place it received a copy of the font of Vermand [="Les fonts baptismaux, forts anciens, ont été cédés à l'église de MONTIGNY SOUS MARLE et remplacés par une copie de ceux de VERMAND.]
