The entry for this church in COFLEIN [https://www.coflein.gov.uk/en/site/165239/details/st-dyfnogs-church-llanrhaeadr-yng-nghinmeirch] [accessed 29 January 2020] notes: "St Dyfnog's church, Llanrhaedr-yng-Nghinmeirch, was first mentioned in the thirteenth century. Alterations were made in the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries and restorations in the nineteenth century"; no font mentioned. The entry for this church in CADW [http://cadwpublic-api.azurewebsites.net/reports/listedbuilding/FullReport?lang=en&id=792] [accessed 29 January 2020] mentions the font in it: "The N chamber has a medieval octagonal sandstone font with stepped octagonal plinth and chamfered base; plain panelled sides and squat, fluted shaft." Octagonal mounted font most likely from the 15th century; the sides of the basin are plain but for a blind rectangular frame on each, except one which is totally plain; tall chamfered underbowl; the stem of the base has fluted ornamentation and appears modern; the lower base is octagonal and plain; there is three-step octagonal plinth, the two lower ones with a priest's stone extension; the plinth appears modern and may have been installed in the 19th-century re-building of the church. Plain wooden lid of modern manufacture.
