Additional Comments: recycled font: . A round hole -now plugged- on the side of the basin appears too large to have been the original drainage channel. The font looks like it was exposed to the elements, used perhaps as a farm trough, which would explain the side hole and the weathering. The vertical groove under the hole, however, could be an argument to the contrary [cf. image].

Noted in Autissier (2005) as one of a group of fonts or stoups in the region decorated with heads [Autissier (ibid.) notes Bécherel, Corseul, Dinan, Erquy, Perros-Guirec and Pleur-Tuit as others in this group]. On-site notes: a large tub-shaped granite font. The sides of the basin have two full human figures, atlante-like, arms raised towards the upper rim. On the left side there is a head, appears to be of a beast with foliage. The square base appears to be unrelated to the font, and it is tall enough to raise the basin to the standard one-meter approximately. A round hole -now plugged- on the side of the basin appears too large to have been the original drainage channel. The font looks like it was exposed to the elements, used perhaps as a farm trough, which would explain the side hole and the weathering. The vertical groove under the hole, however, could be an argument to the contrary [cf. image]. There is evidence of a large crack which was repaired. The lead lining, if ever there was any, is now gone [NB: several other early granite fonts of the area -Samer, etc.- appear never to have been lined]. One of the corners of the base is broken off.
