A font here is mentioned Le Héricher (1845) "en forme de sablier". Vivier-Seguin (1941), who cite Le Héricher as source, mention the hourglass shape of the old font of Brécey; V-S add that, even if the old font was certainly no work of art, it was much more interesting than the present [ca. 1941] one with its miniscule basin made of a marble "d'une couleur lamentable". The entry for this church in Wikimanche [https://www.wikimanche.fr/Église_Saint-Martin_(Brécey)] [accessed 1 April 2025] describes the present font as "fonts baptismaux en marbre rose et couvercle en cuivre martelé".
