Vivier-Seguin (1941) are dismissive about the workmanship of this font, attributing it to a local, and not very good, carver: the plain octagonal basin has chamfering on all but one of the sides, where the stone has not been worked [probably because it was meant to go against the wall]; the base is octagonal and equally plain. The entry for this church in Wikimanche [https://www.wikimanche.fr/Église_Saint-Jean-Baptiste_(Champrepus)] [accessed 16 September 2023] describes a baptismal font that is as impressive by its size and its unusual appearance; the base may actually have been originally a basin, now upside-down ["La cuve baptismale est impressionnante par ses proportions et son déséquilibre. Elle est portée par une base octogonale ornée d’une rangée de perles qui pourrait être une cuve baptismale retournée"]; the same source mentions two holy-water stoups inside the church: one, located in the nave, is round, decorated with an arcade of round arches ["Un très joli bénitier se présente sous la forme d’une cuve circulaire ornée d’une arcature de quatre baies en plein cintre en creux"]; the other is a former medieval capital re-used as holy-water stoup and located by the side door to the soutth chapel ["Un petit chapiteau médiéval a été creusé pour servir de bénitier, à l’entrée de la porte latérale de la chapelle du midi].
