Font Notes:
Vivier-Seguin describe this font as octagonal with an octagonal pedestal and a square lower base; there is a fairly large coat of arms on one of the basin sides bearing a date: Renault (1855) read "1595", whereas Vivier-Seguin (1941) read "1575" and argue that their reading makes more sense in view of the historical circumstances (they put forward a hypothesis related to Barthole, le Conte d'Ymouville and the 1576 date of his official assumption of powers to account for the "1575" date instead of the family arms). The wooden conical cover is reported as damaged ("assez écrasé"). The entry for this church in La Sauvegarde de l’Art français [https://www.sauvegardeartfrancais.fr/projets/saint-denis-le-vetu-eglise-saint-denis/] [accessed 30 March 2025] notes: "Le mobilier conservé dans l’église comprend des fonts baptismaux de 1575". The entry for this church in Wikimanche [https://www.wikimanche.fr/Église_Saint-Denis_(Saint-Denis-le-Vêtu)#cite_note-2] [accessed 39 March 2025] quotes Ranault's text [cf. supra]: "Le font baptismal est formé d'une cuve octogone en pierre granitique reposant sur un pédicule il porte la date de 1595."
