Mentioned in passim in Vivier-Seguin (1941) but with a clear photograph by Jean Seguin [cf. ImagesArea]; late-17th cent. Baroque font at Catz: a slender ribbed pedestal supports a rounded basin whose upper part has a rim ornamented with a ball-and-socle pattern above a deep scotia; below this the basin bulges with prominent ribs; on one side an angel head and wings protrudes from the scotia and above a coat of arms carved over the ribs of the basin; there is a tallish conical cover with a globe and cross finial; the lower base is a torus-scotia-torus moulding arrangement. The caption says "calcaire". Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM50000171]: "Fots baptismaux [...] Calcaire [...] 4e quart 17e siècle [...] H = 111 ; la = 75 [...] Nef, angle sud-ouest". Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: AP50W00503]
