Font Notes:
Vivier-Seguin describe this font as one of the most interesting of the region "par l'harmonie de leurs lignes" and report that Le Héricher has described them as not lacking in art. On-site notes: the granite font has an octagonal basin with several mouldings and a significant torus marking the lower part; the chamfer is plain in its larger upper part and has half-ball motif on the lower; the base, as tall as the basin, is also octagonal and widens slightly in sections giving the thin side of the font a chalice shape; at some point in time the inner basin of the font had a partition which gave it the customary (in this region) two wells; it is not known wether the partition was original or added later; be that as it may, it was removed and the removal damaged the sides of the basin, which have been roughly patched (a local handyman?). Flat cover, probably modern.
