Baptismal font listed in Palissy [ref.: PM50000680]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] Calcaire [...] Cuve hémisphérique qui repose sur un cylindre massif. La base est entourée de quatre colonnettes. Les arcatures sont trilobées. L'ensemble est sur base carrée [...] 13e siècle [...] H = 100 ; d = 98". Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: AP80L022709, AP50W01374, AP50W01375, APMH00066978, AP50W01376, AP80L022707, AP80L022710, AP50W02442] [NB: the different entries in Mémoire give either a 13th- or the 14th-century date]. Included in Vivier-Seguin (1941) among Gothic fonts of the Coutances area; the basin is hemispheric with four large Ogee arches which rest on the outer colonnettes of the base, while the main body of the basin continues in a broad cylinder to which the colonnettes are attached; the spandrels of the basin have clover-leaf motifs. The whole rests on a square plinth. V-S date it 13-14th cent. and they quote Renault as dating it 14th century, while the Monuments Historiques classes it as 13th cent. (description and notes based on ill. and notes in Vivier, 1941).
