Vivier-Seguin (1941) report and illustrate this font as having a rectangular basin with the front corners trimmed and only two ornamented sides, since it is supposed that it was originally in a corner with the blind sides rough. The long font side has seven Ogee arches, the central one shorter to accommodate a fleur-de-lis right above it, while the other arches have alternating leaves and flowers in the spandrils. The trimmed left corner has an "orbs" with a cross on it; the one on the right, the bust of an angel in prayer. The narrow side has plain Ogee arches. The bottom of the basin is adorned with a rope motif above the chamfer. The base is narrower, but also rectangular. In 1941 there was still a wooden cover shaped like a squat pyramid (description based on ill. and notes in Vivier, 1941). Described in the web page of the Diocese de Coutances & Avranches http://catholique-coutances.cef.fr/sanctuaires/chapdelaine/] as a beautiful baptismal font of the 14th century. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM50000019]: "Fonts baptismaux [...] granite [...] La cuve est rectangulaire, et est décorée par des arcatures trilobées séparées par des fleurs de lys dans les écoinçons. L'un des pans coupés porte une tête surmontée d'une croix, l'autre, deux têtes superposées [...] 14e siècle [...] H = 45 ; l = 95 ; la = 60". Illustrated in Mémoire [ref.: AP50W00034]
