Described by Grout as having an octagonal basin and a massive rectangular base "aux angles abattus". Of the two sources available in Vivier-Seguin there is discrepancy as to the material of which the font is made (Seguin gives limestone, while Grout gives granite); there is disagreement also on the description of the ornamentation (Grout gives interlace motif, while Seguin describes it as "pointes de diamant"). There are still visible traces of black, red and yellow paint on it (in Vivier, 1941)
