Font Notes:
A baptismal font here is noted in Le Héricher (1847): "les fonts, cuve ronde, ciselée de cintres et de dents de loup". Described in Vivier-Seguin (1941) as cylindrical and made of a single block of granite, this font has an arcade carved on the side, the columns of the arcade decorated and the lower part showing saw-tooth or crescent motifs; inside one of the arches is the lateral drain of the basin. V-S mention that given the proximity of granite quarries and the considerable weight of this monolith, this font was probably carved locally. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM50005321]: "Anciens fonts baptismaux [...] Anciens fonts baptismaux en granite gris, présentant une cuve et une base monolithes. Des cavités verticales, placées entre deux colonnettes, servent à l'écoulement de l'eau [...] Décor d'arcatures à colonnettes torsadées sans chapiteau. Le bandeau de la base est festonné de dents de scie et de demi-lunes [...] Fonts d'époque romane, de même type que ceux de l'église d'Auvers [...] H = 101 ; d = 82 [...] À l'extérieur, devant le portail, côté sud". A medieval holy-water stoup in this church, also outside, is listed in Palissy [ref.: PM50005322]: "Bénitier monolithe [...] d'époque médiévale [...] Granite [...] H = 68 ; d = 55 [...] À l'extérieur, devant le portail, côté nord".
