Listed by Enlart (1902) as a 12th century square mounted font on a 5-column base. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM62001317] with date in the 12th century. Listed in Oursel (1994) in a group of fonts sharing a general design and made from a local limestone of ochre colour known as 'pierre de Marquise'; other fonts listed in that group are Dannes, Condette, Audrehem, Cormont [quatrefoil-shaped basin], Henneveux and Hervelinghem. Described and illustrated in Drake (2002). This font is probably the closest to the one at Henneveux, but the capitals of the base columns here have several leaves and volutes and, in contrast, the columnar support here has been simplified in the number and shape of the roll mouldings. One of the staples of the old font cover is still present at the upper rim. A B&W photograph of this font [from Drake's book] can be seen at the Archaeology Data Service web site [https://ads.ahds.ac.uk/catalogue] [accessed 18 January 2008]
