Listed by Enlart (1902) as a 13th century square mounted font from the atelier de Villers-Carbonnel of Somme. Table-top baptismal font consisting of a sqaure basin decorate with a running acanthus vine on the four sides, and a round moulding below; there is damage to the upper rim on at least two sides of the basin where the metal plugs and anchorings have split the surrounding stone; the underbowl has large capitals decorated with scrolls while the sides between them are decorated with floral or foliage motifs, different on each side; the five shafts of the base have moulded ends; the lower base is square. The font cover is square and flat with handles [NB: the old Enlart photograph [cf. ImagesArea] shows a font cover that wraps around the upper rim of the basin; later photographs show a different cover].
