Font Notes:
Noted in Enlart (1902) as a 12th-century Marquise font on a 5-support base. Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM62001627 and IM62001144]. The font consists of a square basin with plain vertical sides, with large palmette-shaped leaves at the corners of the underbowl that serve as capitals to the detached angle colonnettes of the base; central shaft with moulded sides and four plain angle colonnettes; lower base has bulky mouldings that serve as bases for the five columns of the base, and has a large leaf at each of the four angles of the lower base. The font cover is a round almost conical dome with a flat top that originally held a cross finial; appears modern.
