LIsted by Enlart as a 12th century pedestal font (Enlart, 1902). Listed in Palissy [ref.: PM62000051] as a sandstone baptismal font of the 12th century. Odd-looking font that may be a composite of unrelated parts; the basin is round at the top, with a broad roll-moulding like rim, on a square frame; the four spandrels in the corners are filled with a large crudely-executed leaf [water-leaf?]; the underbowl round and plain, tapering towards the end; the inside well has been altered by the addition of a vertical partition cemented to the old basin; a metal staple from an old cover remains inserted in the upper rim, but there is no cover present now; the pedestal base is a circular column, plain but for a single moulding atop; the lower base or plinth appears to have been practically buried in the flooring.
