Listed by Enlart (1902) as a Renaissance octagonal font in the Alsace. Two fonts are listed in Palissy for this church: 1)17th-century font [ref.: IM67000773]: "fonts baptismaux [grès] [...] Cuve octogonale [...] Pied d'origine remplacé par un pied moderne [...] ornementation (ornement à forme géométrique : ferronnerie) [...] 17e siècle (?)"; and 2)early-18th century font [ref.: IM67000772]: "fonts baptismaux [grès] [...] Cuve circulaire [actuellement démontée]; pied tourné [...] ornementation (feuille d'acanthe, angelot) [...] 1708". There is at least one metal staple on the upper rim from an old font cover anchorage; the Palissy entry does not mention the German language inscription on the font; the partial text shown in one of the photographs [cf. ImagesArea] reads: "[?] / FFT SINDT / DIE HABEN / CHRISTVM / [?]"; it appears to be "wie vilewrtaufft sindt die haben Christum angezogen", probably from Ephesians 5.
